Members are requested to confirm as an accurate record the Minutes of the meeting held on 1 March 2016 .

 

No motion or discussion may take place upon the Minutes except as to their accuracy, and any question on this point will be determined by a majority of the Members of the body attending who were present when the matter in question was decided.  Once confirmed, with or without amendment, the person presiding will sign the Minutes.

That the minutes of the meeting of the General Purposes Committee held on 1 March 2016 be agreed and signed as a true and accurate record.

Establishment of Appointments Panels - Director of Housing & Safer Communities and Senior Assistant Director Safeguarding and Social Care pdf icon PDF 49 KB

To agree authorisation for the agreement of the advertisement, job description and person specification for the posts, to agree the salary for each post, and to note that the Chief Executive has delegated authority to establish, in consultation, individual Appointment Panels for the appointment of Chief Officers based on the requirements of the post.

Resolved –

 

1.1           That the Chief Executive, in consultation with the Leader and Cabinet Member for Human Resources, be authorised to agree the advertisement, job description and person specification for the posts.

 

1.2           That it be agreed that the salary for the post of Director of Housing Services should be up to £137,714 (Chief Officer Grade A) and also agreed that the salary for the post of Senior Assistant Director Safeguarding and Social Care should be up to £112,211 (Chief Officer Grade B) in accordance with the Council’s Pay Policy Statement.

 

1.3           That it be noted that the Chief Executive has delegated authority to establish, in consultation with the Party Group Leaders, individual Appointment Panels for the appointment of Chief Officers based on the requirements of the post.
